Your time to Shine!
Your time to Shine!
Now is your time. Feel Strong. Feel Powerful. Roll together. Play some derby.
CCRD's Boot Camp is open to all people over 18 years of age interested in becoming a player or skating official. All genders are welcome to participate!
Over the course of 16 weeks, Charm coaches will teach you skating skills and the basics of roller derby. Our goal is to prepare skaters for league try-outs! Skills will include: derby stance, stops, falls, crossovers, etc. At the end of boot camp, there will be a try out (date TBA) to join the league. We ask that participants already know how to self propel (skate forward on your own).
When is practice?
July 24- November 13, 2019
(A full schedule will be provided- practices are usually twice per week)
What do I need to start Boot Camp?
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn!!
- Skates and protective gear (knee and elbow pads, wrist guards, helmet and mouth guard). Skates are available for rental at Skateland if needed, but we recommend getting your own skates.
- Health insurance is a must.
- A water bottle or other means of hydration
*Skaters must be able to self propel (aka, be comfortable skating in open skate sessions) in order to participate.*
How much for FOUR MONTHS of learning derby?
$35 PER MONTH
Give boot camp a try in July. See if it's for you. Pay per month to continue in August, September and October!
How do I know I’m made for this?
You won't know until you try! Any skater will tell you EVERYBODY is made for Roller Derby, once you are involved, you can decide if you want to play, train as an official (we have skating and non-skating officials), help with the league or simply become a part of the CCRG family.
There will be a free info session/sneakpeak/meet and greet/ scrimmage viewing event soon. Follow this event for updates!
Where can I get gear?
Here are some local stores and websites we recommend for gear are:
